ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> FORMER CHEVRON SERVICE STATION 9-7780 <br /> 3246 EAST FREMONT STREET <br /> STOCKTON,CALIFORNIA <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report summarizes environmental assessment work conducted at the former Chevron <br /> service station 9-7780,located at 3246 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California(Figure 1,Appendix <br /> A). The work included drilling one soil boring, soil sampling, laboratory analyses, and report <br /> preparation. The scope of work was designed to fulfill the reporting requirements of the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD?,and the California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board, Central Valley Region (CnW0CB-CVRI- <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> Chevron service station 9-7780 dispensed gasoline from three underground storage tanks. All <br /> p underground tanks, piping and pumps have been removed and the structures demolished. <br /> 2 <br /> The three gasoline underground fuel storage tanks (USTs) and the used oil UST were removed <br /> and soil samples were collected from the bottom of the excavation by Blaine Tech Services in 1987. <br /> Three groundwater monitoring wells were installed and sampled in the former UST area by <br /> Groundwater Technology in March 1987. Water supply wells near the site were sampled August 1987 <br /> by EA Engineering. Four additional monitoring wells were installed in February 1988 by EA <br /> Engineering. Two additional monitoring wells were installed by EA Engineering in September 1990 <br /> after the water levels dropped below the depth of the existing wells. Alton Geoscience submitted a <br /> quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling report to Chevron in June 1991. <br /> 2.1 QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING <br /> The groundwater beneath the site was monitored and sampled at quarterly intervals from <br /> January 1989 to September 1990; however, during this time several of the monitoring wells went dry <br /> due to the current drought. l <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> 1063MMA" �,�; TECHNn!,OGY.INC. <br />
