San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Corte Pen-etration
Testing Site 1'nvis(igation --April 2006 dated May 330; 2006,prepared and submitted to EHD by
Advanced GeoEnvirenmental, Inc. (AGE) on your behalf. Based on the results of this cone
penetration testing(CPT) investigation, AGE:recommends "consideration of the site for low-risk
closure."
EHD is aware that groundwater samples collected from borehole. CPT-1. at 76, 85, and 95 feet
L below ground surface (bgs), and borehole CPT-2 at 59, 80,and 95 feet b.gs were non-detect for
chemicals of corm (COC). Thereforc, your site is currently under review for closure
consideration, Of concern is the recent increase in concentration for 1,2-dichloroethane in
groundwater samples collected £t`oin monitoring well MW`4 during the June 2006 groundwater
sampling event. EHD is awaiting the analytical results from the third and fourth quarters to
determine what,action,if any,is needed
L Central. Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) is requiring evaluation of
Environntal Screcning Levels(ESLs),California Human.Health Screening Levels (CHHSLs),
(Sart Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board) and the potential for vapor intrusion
into buildings for closure consideration of sites having, residential contamination left in plaec.
Therefbre, you.need to evaluate,.the threat of vapor intrusion inside the buildings located onsite,
please submit a wotk plan to EHD by February 14, 2007, to assess the potential for vapor
L intrusion into the existing onsite buildings, or provide a rational, with technical support, for
discounting vapor intrusion into the:buildings as a potential hazard for fiiis site.
