Glossary <br /> OF <br /> REFERENCE TERMS <br /> Rag test A test to check the dewatering ability of sludge before it is <br /> processed . The procedure is to place a small amount of sludge <br /> in a shop towel . The shop towel is then squeezed to free any <br /> water in the sludge . If any sludge sprays from the cloth , the <br /> sludge requires more filter aid . <br /> Regulatory authority The federal , state or local agency that regulates wastewater <br /> discharges from the facility. <br /> Sample containers The proper container which has the required preservatives for <br /> use in compliance testing .
