Eight sol borings with samples from three were drilled
prior to the removal of the tank. App 4 feet of sal was removed following collection of S1 on 8125/86. Sail sample S2 was
collected on 6r25/88 for oonfirrnadon. The additional investigation on 11/16/94 consisted of two sok borings, one of which was converted
into MW1, that defined the extent of reskh* sok contamination.
IV. Additional Comments, Data, etc.
Mark Smolley, Registered Geologist #4650, with E MCON stated that the fate and transport modeling indicated that the
residual 13 cubic yards of contaminated soil does not pose a threat to groundwater beneath the site. Other
contaminants, than those fisted above, were detected in the soil sample collected during the 11/16/94 installation of
MW1 at 11.5' and included: 2-chloro-toluene, 4-chloro-toluene, tetrachloroethene (PCE), chloroform,
trichlorofluoromethane, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, 1,1,1-trichloroethene. However, none was detected
in the sample collected at 16.5 during the installation of MW1, indicating that the residual mass is limited.
This document and the related a e retained by the lead agency as part of the official site
file.
