t'
Mr. William Moranda • - 3 - 8 October 2003
Former Buffalo Tank Corporation, Stockton
5. Sampling and analysis of the two private wells near the site, using the complete list of proposed
and required analyses, is required. Detection limits should be adequate to determine if there are
threats to water quality. The enclosed memo provides the Water Quality Objectives for
petroleum hydrocarbons.
6. Sampling groundwater with a disposable bailer through the open augers is not an acceptable
sampling practice, due to the potential for cross-contamination from contaminated soil sloughing
from or sticking to the inside of the auger or from the soil coring tool. Sampling below the
augers through the Hydropunch®tool is acceptable for a discreet grab water sample.
Please apply for all necessary San Joaquin County boring/well permits and provide at least 72 hours (3
working days) notification prior to initiating field activities, so that I may be present during the
fieldwork.
If you have any questions you may contact me at (916)255-3115 or bartonj(a-,rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov.
APPROVED
James L.
