Stantec Consulting Corporation <br /> 3017 Kilgore Road,Suite 100 <br /> Rancho Cordova;CA 95670 <br /> / Tel:(916)861-0400 <br /> Fax:(916)861-0430 <br /> Stantec <br /> September 9, 2010 <br /> Mr. Nuel Henderson <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. <br /> 600 East Main Street <br /> Stockton, California,95202 <br /> Reference: Removal of Soil Vapor Wells During Remedial Excavation <br /> PG&E French Camp General Construction Yard <br /> 401 East French Camp Road <br /> French Camp,.California. <br /> Dear Mr. Henderson: <br /> Stantec Consulting Corporation (Stantec), on behalf of Pacific Gas&Electric Company(PG&E), is submitting <br /> this letter describing the removal of three (3).soil vapor monitoring points.at 401 East French Camp Road. <br /> The wells will be removed.during remedial excavation activities conducted during the week of September 20, <br /> 2010. <br /> The locations of soil vapor monitoring points SG-1, SG72,SG-3 are illustrated on the attached site plan. Each <br /> of the dual-completion monitoring points consist:of vapor,monitoring screens installed at 5 and 12 feet below <br /> ground surface(bgs), connected to above-ground monitoring points via Y4-inch Nylaflow tubing (see attached <br /> borehole logs). The monitoring points were,installed.into nominal 2-inch boreholes using direct-push <br /> equipment. <br /> Stantec has been performing site investigations under oversight from the Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (the Board). Stantec recently submitted the Site Investigation and Modeling Report <br /> dated May 26, 2010, which included a proposed remedial excavation to remove impacted soils to 11 feet bgs. <br /> The report and proposed;remediation was approved by the Board in.correspondence dated June 30, 20.10 <br /> (attached), <br /> During excavation, Stantec's:remediation contractor(Engineering/Remediation Resources Group, Inc. <br /> [ERRG])will excavate an area approximately 15 feet wide-by 22 feet long by 11 feet deep which <br /> encompasses the soil vapor monitoring wells. During excavation, ERRG and Stantec will remove the Nylaflow <br /> tubing.and vapor influent points, extending the excavation locally to 12 feet as necessary. <br />
