r. Starrlbec
September 29,2009_
Reference: Well Permit Application Packet
centered within a one-foot thick sand filter pack. The filter back will be followed by one-foot
unhydrated Volclay bentonite, then sealed to the next interval or to the surface using hydrated Voiclay
bentonite. A one-foot section of six-inch-diameter schedule 40 PVC casing will be installed within a
concrete seal at the surface to allow for subsequent use of a `small shroud' vapor sampling system.
The soil vapor probes will be covered with flush-mounted well box.--
Soil
ox.-Soil gas samples will be collected using the shut-in test and helium leak testing methods recently
promulgated as `best practices' by California EPA Soil gas samples will be.analyzed for VOCs and
naphthalene using EPA Method TO-15, and for naphthalene using EPA Method TO-17. Following
sample collection, the soil gas probes will be left in place in case additional soil gas samples may
be needed. Once it is determined that no additonal soil gas samples are needed, Stantec will
submit the necessary well destruction permits and destroy the vapor points in accordance to .San
Joaquin Environmental Health Department requirements.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this permit application package, please feel free to
contact the undersigned at(916) 384-0752-
Sincerely,
Stantec Consulting Corporation
Bryan Rorie
Project Scientist
Attachments:
Well Permit Application (for up to five soil borings)
