Box 1500
French Camp, CA 95231
GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL WORKPLAN REVIEW FRENCH CAMP RV PARK AND
GOLF COURSE, SAN JOA Q UIN CO UNTY 3` 19 Fca'+ f 4( -
I have reviewed the 10 March 2006 Groundwater Workplan, prepared by Integrated Water Services, Inc.
and determined that additional information is required. The workplan was prepared to characterize
groundwater quality as part of preparation of a Report of Waste Discharge(RWD). After reviewing the
workplan, I have the following comments:
a. In general, the workplan lacks sufficient detail to allow a meaningful review. Please revise the
report consistent with the attached guidance document,Requirements for Monitoring Well
Installation Workplans and Monitoring Well Installation Reports.
b. Please keep in mind that the purpose of the groundwater monitoring is to monitor the first
saturated interval that is encountered in the boring. The workplan should state that the well depth
is dependant on the conditions encountered while drilling the soil borings.
c. The proposed groundwater monitoring well network is distributed across half the golf course.
Please focus your investigation in the areas where wastewater will be applied. As general
guidance, wells should be placed upgradient and downgradient of application areas and the
monitoring network must allow determination of groundwater gradients. Please identify all
wastewater treatment, storage, and disposal equipment that is located at the property.
d. Please add Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen to the list of groundwater sample analyses.
Please resubmit the workplan for review prior to installation of the groundwater monitoring wells. To
minimize impacts to your project schedule, we recommend the workplan be submitted as soon as possible.
If you have any questions on this review, please telephone me at(916)464-4616.
TIMOTHYr/"/
IEN
Waste Discharge to Land Unit
cc and enc: See attached list.
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
