Rickman
Groundwater Assessment Plan
Ogden Foods Underground Tank
1405 South Fresno Avenue
Stockton, California
In response to your request of March 4, 1988, we have prepared this
groundwater assessment plan to further evaluate the nature and extent of
groundwater contamination at the above-referenced location. A preliminary
assessment of groundwater contamination was provided by Kleinfelder and
Associates in a report dated April 8, 1987. The report indicated that
benzene, toluene, xylene, and ethylbenzene (BTXE) were not detected in the
three wells. Monitoring Well MW-1 detected 0.3 ppm total petroleum hydrocar-
bons. The groundwater gradient at this time was to the north.
The wells were resampled by McClelland Engineers on February 16, 1988.
The groundwater gradient at the time of sampling was to the northeast. No
detectable concentrations of TPH or BTXE were found in the groundwater
samples.
To further evaluate groundwater characteristics at the project site
McClelland proposes to install three additional groundwater monitoring wells.
The wells will be constructed according to state and county requirements for
monitoring wells. Our services will include the following:
1. Drill three borings to a depth of up to 20 feet below the water
table; install 2-inch-diameter PVC wells (top of screen set at a
depth of about 5 feet below ground surface) , locking covers and
traffic boxes; develop each well and sample the groundwater accord-
ing to EPA methodology. One groundwater sample will be collected
from each well for chemical analysis. Soil samples will be
obtained at 5-foot intervals in each boring.
2. Collect groundwater samples from the two existing on-site water
supply wells.
