The facility is located at 1405 South
Fresno Avenue in Stockton, California. A series of soil borings and
ground water monitoring wells were drilled around an underground fuel oil
storage tank. Kleinfelder prepared a "Soil and Ground Water
Investigation" report dated April 8, 1987. Copies of the report were
submitted to the San Joaquin Local Health District and the Regional Water
Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for review and consideration.
At this time, it is Kleinfelder's understanding that the San Joaquin Local
Health District desires the RWQCB to become the lead regulatory agency on
the project. Pet Incorporated would like to proceed with eventual site
remediation in a controlled, but timely manner.
Pet Incorporated would appreciate any comments the RWQCB may have on the
project and the April 8, 1987 report. Upon receipt of RWQCB comments, Pet
Incorporated and Kleinfelder would like to schedule a meeting with the
RWQCB and the San Joaquin Local Health District to discuss project status
and eventual site remediation. We will contact you in the next few days
to set up a tentative meeting date.
If we can provide additional information or answer any questions please do
not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
J.1 _RLEINFFELDHR &ASSOCIATES
Eric S.
