Rickman Page 2
3. Containerize soil cuttings from the inner perimeter wells onsite.
(These cuttings will subsequently be thermally treated with the
Circulating Bed Combustor (CBC) . The outer perimeter wells are
beyond the zone of contamination as defined in the assessment
report dated May 20, 1988. In the unlikely event that contami-
nation is observed in these borings, soil cuttings will be contain-
erized for subsequent treatment.)
4. Containerize development water from the inner perimeter wells and
the piezometers onsite prior to treatment with the water treatment
system.
5. Abandon all wells in an appropriate manner. (The inner perimeter
dewatering wells, as well as the existing groundwater monitoring
wells KF-MW-1, 2, 3, and MEI-MW-1, 2, 3 will be abandoned by
complete removal of well materials and gravel pack during the
proposed excavation. The outer perimeter dewatering wells and
piezometers extending below the base of the proposed excavation
will be abandoned after completion of remediation activities by
grouting from top to bottom in accordance with the San Joaquin
Local Health District regulations.)
Prior to initiation of this work, the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board and the San Joaquin Local Health District must give
approval of this plan.
