Page 2 , 1817 Fresno Avenue
Clearwater recommends continuing the current groundwater monitoring and sampling
program and site remediation operation and maintenance program . SJC/EHD agrees with
this recommendation , until such time as it can be ruled out that MW-513 may return to
pre-dewatering concentrations. However, the analytical suite for the routine quarterly
sampling events must include analysis for 1 ,2-dichloroethane and ethylene dibromide.
SJC/EHD also agrees with the recommendation to suspend the application process for a
Permit for Waste Discharge, which was being sought to begin the injection of nutrients
into the subsurface. If contaminant concentration trends do not change it would not be
cost effective to pursue a Permit for Waste Discharge.
If you wish to investigate the groundwater near the offsite dewatering point please submit
a work plan to SJC/EHD no later than September 21 , 2007, and initiate the process to
obtain either an encroachment permit or access agreement for the proposed location of
the drilling .
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran , REHS , Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
