d
1817 Fresno Ave.
page 2
In the CAP dated November 20 , 2002, Clearwater estimated that 463 gallons of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline remain in the sorbed phase at your site. Though
SJC/EHD has concerns with Clearwater's calculations , it appears that a significant
quantity of residual soil contamination remains at your site . The proposed oxygen infusion
remediation specifically targets groundwater contamination , and does not address the
residual soil contamination . Please note that confirmation soil borings to assess the
extent and mass of the remaining sorbed contamination will be required prior to site
closure.
SJC/EHD has received a San Joaquin County Well Permit Application and required $89
permit fee for the installation of the proposed monitoring wells . SJC/EHD will issue the
permit once Clearwater has clarified their intent regarding nutrient infusion , or notified this
agency that a Permit for Waste Discharge has been obtained from the RWQCB.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran , REHS , Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan , Senior REHS Nuel C.
