0
CLEARWATER
G R O U P
Enolronrnrntcl Srroecn
The oxygen feed pressures for the individual wells range between 3 5 psi and 5 0 psi Gas flow
rates for each of the wells is 20 cc/min Dissolved oxygen in the remediation wells increased
from approximately 10 mg/L to concentrations on the order of 30 mg/L within the first two
weeks of iSOC system operation
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Results from this quarterly monitoring event appear generally consistent with those from
previous groundwater monitoring activities However, trace amounts of BTEX were detected in
the samples from MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 after numerous quarters in which they remained
below detection limits Known contaminant concentrations are currently highest at monitoring
wells MW-1, MW-5B, and MWA and in comparison with previous quarters, have increased in
MW-1 and MWA and have diminished in MW-513
During the third quarter, twelve remediation infection wells and an oxygen-infusion system
("iSOC") were installed on the site The iSOC system has increased DO in the remediation wells
from "baseline" levels of approximately 1 mg/L to concentrations on the order of 30 mg/L
Clearwater is currently conducting monitoring of the 1SOC system, and collection of DO, ORP,
total and ferrous iron, pH, temperature, and specific conductivity measurements on a bi-weekly
basis Clearwater will perform system monitoring on a monthly basis Clearwater will be
continuing with the regular quarterly groundwater monitoring schedule for the foreseeable
future
ZB178C/3rdQtr 2004 Monitoring Rpt 9 October 8,2004
