o <br /> CLEARWATER <br /> G IN O u 11 r N L <br /> E n arronmi n10 S,,vites <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1 This document, prepared by Clearwater Group, Inc (Clearwater), presents a <br /> workplan for investigation of the Barnes Trucking Facility (Barnes Trucking), <br />' 1817 South Fresno Avenue in Stockton, California This workplan is <br /> submitted on behalf of Mr Floyd Barnes and Barnes Trucking In letters <br /> dated September 18, 1992 and April. 30, 1996, the San Joaquin County Public <br />' Health Services, Environmental Health Division (EHD) indicated that <br /> additional investigation of this site is required because petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from an underground <br />' storage tank (UST) excavation <br />' 1.1 Site Description <br /> The Barnes Trucking Facility is on the southwest corner of the intersection of <br /> Charter Way (State Highway 4) and South Fresno Avenue (Figure 1) The <br /> property is located approximately 15 miles south of the Port of Stockton <br /> Turning Basin and 0 9 mile east of the San Joaquin River <br /> Currently, the site is used as a truck dispatch center and parking area There <br /> are no fuel storage or fuel dispensing facilities operating at the site, on the <br /> basis of information provided by Mr Barnes <br /> 12 Previous Work <br />' According to an April 30, 1996 letter by Ms Mary Meays of the San Joaquin <br /> County EHD, two USTs were removed from the site on June 15, 1992 Both <br /> USTs were 10,000-gallon capacity tanks that had been used to store diesel fuel <br /> (Figure 2) On the basis of information provided by Mr Barnes, soil removed <br /> from the excavation was stockpiled, sampled, and returned to the excavation <br /> after the tanks had been removed <br /> According to the EHD, four soil samples were collected from the bottom of <br /> the excavation at a depth of approximately 16 feet below ground surface (bgs) <br /> The assumed sample locations (on the basis of sample identification <br /> numbers) are shown on Figure 2 Four samples were also collected from the <br /> soil stockpile <br /> I Table 1 summarizes the analytical data from the four excavation samples and <br /> the four stockpile samples Soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum <br /> C-178 WP 4/97 1 <br />
