ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
PLANNING ■ ENGINEERING ■ SURVEYING
PERMIT/SERVICES
x0;: : - 1016 12th Street ■ Modesto, CA 95354 ■ (209) 521-8986 ■ FAX (209). 521-9045
 rt19
September 25,2000
Mr.Steve Harris
Terrasearch Inc.
11840 Dublin Blvd.
Dublin,CA 94568
Subject: Riverwalk Water Reclamation Facility—Additional Geotechnical Investigation
Dear Steve:
We have obtained additional information form the City of Lathrop and Regional Water Quality Control.
Board regarding the permitting of the Riverwalk Water Reclamation Facility. Unfortunately, this will
require us to do additional geotechnical field work and analysis on the site. Below is a summary of the
additional geotechnical information we will need from Terrasearch:
1. Long term percolation rates from the effluent storage pond— Please proceed on determining the long
term percolation rates based upon the method discussed using two test pits. The location of the test
pits should be per our previous fax.
2. Groundwater quality information—It appears we will need to be able to monitor water quality over the
next several months. Therefore, what I propose we do is place a series of monitoring wells around the
water reclamation facility site rather than boring test holes every time we need a sample. The attached
fax shows the tentative monitoring well locations. If field and farming conditions requires moving the
proposed location I do not think it would be a problem.
3. Sampling—Based upon our discussions with City and Board Staff,we will need to analyze the samples
for the next several months, maybe longer. We will also need to draw a test sample from the San
Joaquin River for analysis. The certified analytical results should include pesticides, volatile organic
compounds (VOC's), and the constituents from a"Title 22" drinking water analysis. I have attached
water quality analysis which is similar with the exception of the analysis for pesticides.
You will need to coordinate the field work with the farmer and land owner.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Pck S.Garvey ' n L)
atri
Sr.Project Manager
Enclosures
cc: John Hughes,Award Homes
Darrel Dixon,Thompson-Hysell Engineers
P:\LATHROP\12208702\docs%anis2.dm-rkc
