� v <br /> 0 <br />' A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br />' Summary Report of <br /> Additional Subsurface Investigation <br /> Franklin High School <br />' 300 North Gertrude Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br />' ATC Project No 54 17292 0001 <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />' ATC Associates Inc has prepared this letter report on behalf of Stockton Unified School District <br /> (SUSD) to summarize findings of the additional subsurface investigation performed at the above <br /> referenced site (Figure 1) The purpose of the subsurface Investigation was to evaluate whether <br />' or not methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) has migrated through soil and into groundwater at depth <br /> This work was performed at the request of San Joaquin County, Environmental Health <br /> Department (EHD) The findings of the subsurface investigative study are summarized in the <br /> following paragraphs <br /> 1.1 Site Location <br />' The site is located on the south side Miner Avenue and the east side of Gertrude Avenue, <br /> Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1 The location is a residential and commercial area <br />' Franklin High School currently occupies the site <br />' 1_2 Background <br /> In December 1989, one 500-gallon unleaded gasoline underground storage tank (UST) and all <br />' associated piping and dispensing equipment was removed and disposed of Laboratory analysis of <br /> a soil sample collected from beneath the former UST location indicated the presence of detectable <br /> concentrations total petroleum hydrocarbons After the tank was removed, the area of the former <br />' tank was backfilled <br /> On August 19, 1991, three soil borings ranging in depth from 20 to 50 feet below ground surface <br />' (bgs) were advanced through and around the former UST excavation (Figure 3) Soil samples <br /> were submitted for laboratory analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) Laboratory results indicated the samples <br />' from one boring, B-1, contained detectable concentrations of TPHg and BTEX The samples <br /> from bonngs B-2 and B-3 did not contain detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> The results of the analysis are presented in Appendix A <br /> W lwordpra117292117292 OI tirep,,M\F,up_mv doc 1 <br />
