SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST LARRY'S AUTO REPAIR 308 North Grant Street Stockton,California 1.0. INTRODUCTION At the request of Mr. Charles Skobrak,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this soil vapor extraction (SVE) pilot test plan for petroleum release at 308 North Grant Street in Stockton(the site). This scope of work is being performed in accordance with San Joaquin County San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) directives and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites.A historical background is presented in Appendix A. 2.0. SCOPE OF WORK- SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION TEST To determine the feasibility of remedial options at the site,AGE will perform a soil vapor extraction (SVE)pilot test. The SVE pilot test will be conducted for an eight-hour period at the site. For the SVE test, an internal-combustion unit will be used to apply a vacuum to VW5A/B. The induced vacuum will be measured at vapor wells and monitoring wells(V W2 through V W5). Soil vapor concentrations from the extraction well will be measured at intervals throughout the pilot test. Four soil vapor samples will also be collected during the pilot test, submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory and analyzed for: • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030; • Volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes: BTEX) and Fuel oxygenates; di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), MTBE, tertiary- amyl methyl ether (TAME) and tertiary butanol (TBA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260. Results of the SVE pilot test will be used to determine feasibility options for Corrective Action of the release of hydrocarbons. 3.0. PROCEDURES All field activities will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California Professional Geologist.Procedures for the soil vapor sampling and performance of the pilot test and sample shipment are outlined below.
