. 20 November 1995
AGE-NC Project No 95-0184
43 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST
The following procedures will be performed for the soil vapor extraction pilot test
1 A portable internal combustion extraction system will be set-up on-site and operated for a
period of 8 to 10 hours to determine the subsurface permeability and radial influence of vapor
extraction and the initial hydrocarbon recovery rate
2 Four vapor samples will be collected during the test Samples will be collected at
approximately 2-hour intervals and measure hydrocarbon concentrations in the extracted
vapors The samples will then be transported under cham-of-custody to a state-certified
laboratory for analysis Each vapor sample will be analyzed for TPH as gasoline and diesel
and BTE&X in accordance with appropriate EPA methods
3 Results of the SVE pilot test will be used to determine feasibility of soil vapor extraction at
the site
• 4 4 REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of the plot test and laboratory analyses, a Corrective Action Plan(CAP) will be
prepared summarizing results of the work performed The CAP will include recommendations for
remediation of impacted soil and ground water at the site and, if necessary, further investigation The
report will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist
