Working To Restore Nature <br />' 1710 Main Street <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 PROPOSED WORKPLAN <br /> Phone (209) 838-3507 <br />' FAX (209) 838-3509 PHASE H - ASSESSMENT OF SOIL <br /> AND GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION <br /> Skobrak Property <br />' 308 North Grant Street <br /> Stockton, California <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report was prepared on behalf of Mr Charles Skobrak for submittal to the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) and the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) to present proposed activities addressing <br />' potential soil and groundwater contamination at 308 North Grant Street, Stockton, California <br />' (Figure 1) <br /> The subject site is a subdivision of a property which was formerly occupied by DeRollo Mazda, <br /> an automobile sales and service business The site previously accommodated three 1,000-gallon <br /> t underground fuel storage tanks (USTs) Two of the USTs dispensed gasoline and the third UST <br /> dispensed diesel fuel <br />' 2.0 BACKGROUND <br />' On April 21, 1987, a 1,000-gallon UST (Tank A) was removed from the subject property <br /> (Figure 2) Field inspection during tank removal revealed holes in the tank A soil sample was <br />' collected from beneath the tank at a depth of approximately 14 feet below grade The laboratory <br /> results for the sample recorded elevated levels of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes <br />' (BTEX) (Table 1) <br />' At the request of the PHSIEHD an initial (Phase 1) subsurface assessment was performed at the <br /> site by WaterWork Corporation One soil boring (SB-3) was advanced (as close as possible to <br /> the area of the highest recorded soil contamination) to a depth of approximately 35 feet below <br /> WP-0993 URF 1 <br />
