I "
j j !
03 December 2003
AGE-NC Project No 95-0184
II
' The ground water appears to flow generally northeast across much of the site under and average
hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 004 foot/foot (Figure 2 and Table 4), however, in the
northwestern portion of the site the inferred ground water gradient was slightly steeper at
' approximately 0 007 feet/feet Well VW-5C was not used in calculating gradient and deviated well
VW-513's groundwater elevation was adjusted as shown in Appendix D
' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g was detected in all of the sampled monitoring wells at concentrations ranging from
260 micrograms per liter(µg/1)`in MW-7 to 162,000µg/1 in VW-5C(Figure 3) TPH-d was detected
in the sample from MW-4 at a concentration of 210,000 µg/1 A map of TPH concentrations is
' provided in Figure 3
1 Various BTEX compounds were detected in'all ground water samples analyzed with exception to
MW-7 The maximum concentrations detected were 25,000 µg/1 benzene(VW-2B), 38,000 lig/l
toluene(VW-5C), 5,800 µg/1 ethylbenzene (VW-3), and 25,600 µg/1 total xylenes (VW-3) A map
' of benzene concentrations is provided in Figure 4
MTBE was detected in samples from wells MW-4, VW-2B, VW-3 and VW-4 at concentrations
' ranging from 67 gg/1 (MW-4) to 550 µg/l (VW-4) A map of MTBE concentrations is provided in
Figure 5
' The lead scavenger 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and as detected n MW-2, MW-4 and VW-2B
through VW-5C at concentrations ranging from 7 2 µg/l (MW-2) to 410 µg/1 (VW-4),
12-dibromoethane (EDB) was detected in MW-4 and VW-2B at a maximum concentration of
' 110 µg/1 (VW-2B) A map of 1,2-DCA concentrations is provided in Figure 5 `
Six additional VOCs were detected at the following maximum concentrations naphthalene at
' 680µg/1, 1,2,4-tnmethylbenzene at 4,000µg/1,n-propyl benzene at 390µg/I, 1,3,5 tnmethylbenzene
at 1,200 4g/1,isopropylbenzene at 120 Agll,and p-isopropyltoluene 17 µg/1 all from sample VW-5C
I I
' Analytical results of ground water samples are summarized on Tables 2 and 3 Copies of the
laboratory report (CTEL Project No CT214-0308075) and chain-of-custody forms are in
Appendix C
• I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
}
