The thin nylon line used to louver
the bailer was removed and discarded after use. Decontamination of the bailer consisted
of an initial wash with an alconox/potable water solution followed by a thorough potable
i water rinse which was followed by final rinse with distilled water. The pump that was
used to purge the, wells was thoroughly cleansed prior to use and between uses at the
well by inserting it.into a barrel containing an alconoxlpotable water mixture, washing the
outside, and running the pump sufficiently to insure the inside of the pump and attached
hoses received a`'good wash.
