Box 2009,
Stockton, CA 95201 W.O. 6254-01-02
RE: Souza Realty
Grantline Plaza - Groundwater Investigation
Tracy, California
Dear Ms. Ratliff,
On behalf of Souza Realty and in response to your letter,to Souza Realty dated June 17,
1991, ROY °F: WESTON, INC. (WESTON) proposes to install a single additional
monitoring well and conduct near surface soil sampling;at the Grantline Plaza site. The
proposed work'will be conducted in accordance with the previously approved Work Plan
dated November 27, 1990.
The monitoring well (designated MW-4) will be installed in a downgradient position to the
sama'specifications as the.previously installed wells at:the site. The proposed location
for MW-4 is shown on the attached map (Figure 1). This map indicates the locations of
all previously installed wells and underground lines at the site. Product lines from the
former UST ran directly up to the pump which was situated on top of the tank location,
according to Souza Realty.
To further assess the.potential that petroleum related contaminates may have migrated
along underground lines, WESTON proposes to sample the fill material along these dines
in two locations. These proposed sample locations are also shown on the attached map.
This sampling will be conducted using a hand-operated, stainless steel auger and drive
sampler to avoid damage to underground lines.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene
(BTEX) by EPA Method 602, total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA
Method 8015,:and for Coliform bacteria. Soil sample's will be analyzed for benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, and for total petroleum
E; hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA Method 8015.
f
