We have also
discussed this report with the:Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB). .
i 3
y
'I Three monitoring wells were installed and two rounds of water sampling was conducted. All three wells
were found to be non-detectable for hydrocarbon contamination, however, none of the wells were placed
downgradient from the underground fuel storage.tank. The groundwater gradient is to the northeast and
a large building occupies the.site directly north of the former tank excavation and monitoring well #1.
` Information gained from installing and sampling a downgradient monitoring well is essential in determining ;
the lateral extent of hydrocarbon contamination.
Please submit a work plan to define the extent of hydrocarbon contamination by July 31, 1991. This work
plan should include a diagram showing the Iocation of the product lines and former pump island.
Access agreements may be necessary if the well is to be placed in an off-site Iocation.
I€you have any questions, call Eleanor Ratliff, RENS, of my-staff at (209)468-3454.
a'
Jogi Khanna, M.D. M.P.H.
Health Officer
r
ry ,
Laurie A.
