We can only inform you of what oil the lift <br /> manufacturers recommend be used in the lifts they <br /> market. After that, it is up to the lift owner to follow <br /> those recommendations. . . . The current <br /> manufacturers of in-ground automotive lifts <br /> recommend that the following oils he used in in- <br /> ground lifts: 1) petroleum-based (motor) oil <br /> containing additives (i.e. anti-foam, anti-rust and anti- <br /> oxidation agents); or 2) vegetable oil-based <br /> (biodegradable) hydraulic fluids formulated for <br /> hydraulic automotive lifts (Lift manufacturers <br /> recommend against the use of 'hydraulic' fluzdc for <br /> they tend to foam under pressure " <br /> 34 <br />
