S
Additionally one boring in the center at the source will be drilled to a depth of 20 feet
below the bottom of the elevator pit This hole will serve as the new piston shaft
location, and is also the area we would expect the majority of saturation at depth. Upon
completion of this center hole, approximately 300 to 500 gallons of groundwater will be
pumped and disposed of offsite Upon completion of drilling each boring, that boring will
be backfilled with a 3-sack cement mix slurry
GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION
Upon completion of soil remediation inside the elevator pit area, three groundwater monitoring
wells will be installed, as close to the elevator shaft as possible and situated to the south,
northwest and east of the elevator piston location in order to ascertain residual groundwater
contaminant levels and to establish groundwater gradient.
Upon receipt of the analytical results outlining concentrations of hydraulic fluid in groundwater,
CRC will evaluate solution methods for remediation or further evaluation, which may include:
pump and treat system, or
sparging (to enhance biodegradation) in conjunction with biodegradation modeling, or
particle transport modeling and risk assessment.
Please review this Workplan at your earliest convenience and provide us with your approval
. and/or comments
Yours truly,
CRC ENV TAL RISK MANAGEMENT, INC
Trevor Santochi TREVOR o SANTOCHi -
NO 1591 , Danfrd M Baker
Technical Director, CIFIED Senior Vice President
FERING
1r GEOLOGIST /
Enclosures-
Exp 4:tY
l r
1) Map (Site Location) f OFF
2) Map (Proposed Monitoring Well Locations)
3) Map (Soil Remediation Plan)
4) Well Construction Typical
5) Elevator Shaft Section
6) Soil Boring Location Map
7) Section A-A'
8) Section B-B'
CRC FavuenmaHu Risk Mut"MMML k[ PAm 11327-017.1
8rnmi Pumm L P
.:I3 Grand Caul BarMird
Iw 1I 199 g
