1.0 PRELIMINARY SITE INFORMATION, GENERAL HAZARDS, AND <br /> SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> Preliminary site information regarding location, general use characteristics, and <br /> possible waste types at the sampling site are in the General Site Profile. The <br /> process of collecting subsurface samples make bodily contact with potentially <br /> hazardous materials often inevitable Drilling and use of other powered <br /> equipment also makes exposure to other environmental contaminants very likely <br /> In addition to the materials actually being researched at the site, sampling and <br /> decontamination items may involve chlonnated solvents Gasoline/diesel vapors <br /> result from refueling, and exhaust from powered equipment is to be anticipated. <br /> Methane is an explosive gas that can be found in bore holes as a result of the <br /> decay of buried material, and any dust as a result of work at a drilling/sampling <br /> site should be kept to a minimum <br /> Drilling/boring always has the potential of striking buried utilities such as gas, <br /> electrical, sewer, water, and telephone lines Similarly, striking a buried <br /> container of hazardous materials can result in very high exposure and/or fire and <br /> explosion hazards. <br /> General Site Profile: <br /> General Site Description 2233 Grand Canal Boulevard, Stockton, CA <br /> General Topography.
