STEVE PAO
SITE: FORMER MOBIL BULK PLANT 04-343
500 EAST GRANI'L1NE ROAD
TRACY, CALIFORNIA
RE: SUPPLEMENTARY SITE ASSESSMENT WORK PLAN
Dear Mr. Pao:
In response to a letter of request dated September 9, 1994, from the San Joaquin County Public
Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHSlEHD), Alton Geoscience submits this
supplementary site assessment work plan for former Mobil Oil Bulk Plant 04-343, located at 500
East Grantline Road in Tracy, California (Figure 1).
1.0 OBJECTIVES
The planned site assessment activities will be performed to:
• further characterize the lateral and vertical extent of adsorbed-phase hydrocarbons, if any,
offsite to the west of the former gasoline underground storage tank; and
• assess the feasibility of enhanced biodegradation of hydrocarbons as a method to
remediate remaining adsorbed-phase hydrocarbons present below the static ground water
table at the site.
2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is currently a vacant lot surrounded by chain link fence (Figure 2). The site was
formerly a bulk petroleum distribution plant. In August 1988, all structures were removed from
the property including one underground gasoline storage tank and four aboveground diesel fuel
storage tanks.
The site is bordered by vacant lots to the east and south. Doane Products Company is located
to the west, across the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks (SPRR) and Leprino Foods is located to
the north, across East Grantline Road. The site is located about 3,500 feet south of Highway 205
30A Lindbergh Mm
Livermore.Cal'iiamia 94550
(510)606-9130•FAX(510)606-9260
