i ALTON GEOSCIENCE <br /> GENERAL FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> FOR <br /> GROUND WA'T'ER MONITORING AND SAMPLING ; ; , „ <br /> Ground <br /> water monitoringand sampling was performed in accordance with the guidelines <br /> of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) and Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board,Central Valley Region(RWQCB)• Prior to purging and sampling each well, <br /> total well depth and depth to ground water was measured with an accuracy of 0.01 foot from <br /> a reference mark at the top of each well casing using an electronic sounder. <br /> Prior to sample collection, each well was purged ofWPurgen ing was sing volumes <br /> accomplished <br /> stabilization of pH, temperature, and conductivity w� achieved <br /> using either a clean bailer or pump. <br /> Ground water samples were collected using a disposable bailer, then carefully transferred <br /> into clean, laboratory-supplied glass containers. The sampler wore nitrile gloves at all times <br /> • <br /> The samples were clearly labeled with well number, site <br /> during purging and well sampling <br /> identification, date and time of collection, and sampler's initials, and transported to a <br /> california-certified laboratory following proper preservation and chain of custody protocol. <br /> i <br /> Ground water generated during purging was placed into labeled 55-gallon drums approved <br /> ation pending laboratory results of samples to determine the <br /> by the Department of Transport <br /> appropriate disposal method. <br />
