A%k A LTON
AGEOSCIENCE
THE RESULTS TEAM
April 41 1991
Mr. Roy Greengrass
Leprino Foods
2401 MacArthur Drive
P.O. Box 1057 30-136-01
Tracy, California 95376
Subject: Request for Permission to Access Property to
Construct a Ground Water Monitoring Well and
Collect Ground Water Samples at
Lepriono Foods
2401 MacArthur Drive
Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Greengrass:
As previously discussed during our meeting on March 27 , 1991,
an investigation has been ongoing at the former Mobil Oil
Bulk Plant, located at 500 East Grantline Road to the south
of the Leprino Foods Plant, Tracy, California. Mobil Oil
Corporation is under the direction of the California Regional
Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region (RWQCB) ,
and the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SJCEHD) , to evaluate ground water quality in the area.
Several monitoring wells have been installed onsite of the
former Mobil Oil Bulk Plant, however, additional sampling
points are required to complete the investigation.
Alton Geoscience proposes to install one or two soil borings/
temporary wells or monitoring wells to collect ground water
samples periodically. The monitoring wells will be
installed, only if the ground water samples from the soil
borings/temporary wells have detectable hydrocarbon
constituents . if ground water samples have no detectable
hydrocarbons, then the borings will be backfilled with neat
cement to the grade. The scope of work would include the
following:
1) Alton Geoscience will contact Leprino Foods to arrange
a date suitable for field activities.
2 ) Every effort will be made to have as little impact on
your daily operations .
3) Sampling points will be determined following proper
notification of Underground Service Alert of
California and meeting with the appropriate utility
companies.
4 ) The site will be cleaned upon completion of work.
1000 Urnen Avenue.Suite 140
Concord.Cakfornl7 94520
(415)682-1582•FAX 1415)682.8921
