(WGR)has been retained by Chevron Pipe Line,Inc.to conduct <br /> a subsurface investigation at the site of a previous pipeline leak located on private property near <br /> the intersection of Grant Line and Corral Hollow Roads in Tracy, California (Figures 1 and 2). <br /> This phase of work includes: drilling five soil borings for soil sampling and analyses; completing <br /> the borings as monitor wells; purging the wells and sampling groundwater for analyses; surveying <br /> the top of casing elevation and incorporating it with the existing well data; and, producing a <br /> potentiometric surface map based on elevation of groundwater above mean sea level. The purpose . <br /> of the work is to determine the presence and define the possible vertical and horizontal extent of <br /> fuel hydrocarbons that may be present in the subsurface and to evaluate the groundwater quality <br /> beneath the site. As requested by Chevron, we have prepared the following workplan for your <br /> review. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The project site is located near the intersection of Grant Line and Corral Hollow Roads in Tracy <br /> (Figure 2), and is adjacent to the gasoline-diesel fuel product pipeline that runs along the north side <br /> of Grant Line Road. Land use at or near the site includes agricultural fields and a number of f <br /> private residences. <br /> i <br /> The project site includes the following study areas where the investigation is to be conducted: a) <br /> i <br /> The Kuden and De Sousa properties- north of Grant Line Road and west of Corral Hollow Road; <br /> and b) The Pombo property-south of Grant Line Road and west of Corral Hollow Road. Drilling <br /> on the Kuden and Pombo properties will be conditional upon receiving permission from the <br /> property owners. <br /> i <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Three parcels of private property form the project site(Figure 2).
