(URSGWC) received approval from San Joaquin County Public
Health Services (SJCPHS) on March 17, 2000 to perform a soil and groundwater investigation at the
California Highway Patrol (CHP) facility located at 385 Grantline Road in Tracy, California(Site). The
deadline to perform the field activities was 60 days from the date of the approval letter,March 17, 2000.
Recently, URSGWC was informed that the underground storage tank (UST) located at the Site is
scheduled for removal in mid to late May 2000. The purpose of this letter is to request an extension of
the deadline to complete the field activities by approximately 45 days, to June 28, 2000. The extension
would allow for the UST removal to occur and data to be received for soil samples collected following
removal of the UST; prior to the site investigation.
URSGWC has tentatively scheduled the investigation field activities for June 21,2000;pending your approval of
the extension request. If you have any questions or require additional information regarding this request, please
contact Mr. A.K. Jain at the State of California, Real Estate Services Division,at(916) 323-5816.
Sincerely,
URS Greiner Woodward-Clyde, Inc. -California
Philip Cox
Project Manager
PMC/sc
cc: A.K.
