KLEINFFLDFR <br /> An rn ployee owner!Comm) U <br /> June 30, 2005 <br /> File No 49014-1 GSL <br /> Mr A K Jain �G <br /> State of California <br /> Department of General Services <br /> RESD/PSB/Seismic & Special Programs <br /> 7073 rd Street, Suite 4-430 <br /> Sacramento, CA 95605 <br /> Subject- Request for"No Further Action Required" Report <br /> California Highway Patrol—Tracy <br /> 385 Grantline Road <br /> Tracy, California 95376 <br /> Dear Mr Jam <br /> �a This report presents information in support of No Further Action Required(NFAR)status requested <br /> for the California Highway Patrol facility in Tracy, California This report was requested by San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department to assist in an evaluation of granting site closure <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> On March 25, 1999, a soil and groundwater investigation was performed in the vicinity of a single <br /> wall fiberglass 12,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) as a part of 1998 UST <br /> upgrade requirements Four Geoprobe borings(SB-1 through SB-4)were advanced to 25 feet below <br /> ground surface(bgs)on both sides and ends of the UST Soil samples were collected from 9 5 to 10 <br /> feet bgs and 24 5 to 25 feet bgs A grab groundwater sample was collected from each boring <br /> MTBE was detected in each of the soil samples collected from 24 5 to 25 feet bgs at concentrations <br /> ranging from 0 004 mg/kg to 0 093 mg/kg and in each of the grab groundwater samples from 3 ug/L <br /> to 940 ug/L With the exception of total xylenes detected at 10 ug/kg in SB-2 (24 5 to 25 feet bgs), <br /> TPH gasoline and BTEX were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the soil or <br /> groundwater samples <br /> On May 18, 2000, the UST and 118 cubic yards of soil around the UST were excavated and <br /> removed Analytical results from UST excavation confirmation soil and stockpile soil samples <br /> indicated that petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected above laboratory reporting limits <br /> On June 22, 2000 three bonngs were advanced and wells MW-I through MW-3 were installed in <br /> each boring to 15 feet bgs Soil samples from a depth of 6 feet bgs from each boring were submitted <br /> for analyses TPH gasoline (1,100 ug/kg) and xylenes (88 ug/kg) were detected in MW-I, and <br /> MTBE (250 and 17 ug/kg) was detected in MW-1 and MW-2 Petroleum hydrocarbons were not <br /> detected in the soil sample from MW-3 <br /> On April 1,2004 a boring was advanced and well MW-4 was installed in the boring to 35 feet bgs <br /> To evaluate potential vertical migration of petroleum hydrocarbons,MW-4 was installed in adeeper <br /> groundwater zone than the previously installed wells Soil samples from depths of 25 5,30 5,and 36 <br /> 49014-1/SAC5R423 Page 1 of 3 June 30,2005 <br /> Copynght NOS Ktesnfelder Inc <br /> KLEINFELDER 3077 Fite Circle, Sacramento,CA 95827-1815 (916) 366-1701 (916)366-7013 fax <br />
