I <br /> RE KLEINFELDER <br /> An employee owned company D <br /> ��QcLn�l <br /> November 18, 2004 NO U <br /> File 49014-1 2004 <br /> Mr A K Jain <br /> ENVIRONMEN1 hLALI N State of California PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> I� Department of General Services <br /> RESD/PSB/Seismic & Special Programs <br /> 7073 Id Street, Suite 4-430 <br /> West Sacramento, CA 95605 <br /> Subject: October 2004 Groundwater Sampling and Sensitive Receptor Survey Report <br /> 1 California Highway Patrol—Tracy <br /> 385 Grantlme Road <br /> Tracy, California 95376 <br /> Dear Mr Jain <br /> This report describes the results of groundwater sampling services performed by Kleinfelder at <br /> ' the California Highway Patrol facility located at 385 Granthne Road in Tracy, California (Plate <br /> 1) The work was requested by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJEMD) in a letter dated July 19, 2004 The attached report describes the October 2004 <br /> sampling activities and subsequent analytical results for the four groundwater monitoring wells, <br /> survey data for the top of monitoring well casings, and confirmation numbers for electronic data <br /> submitted to the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) In addition, the results of a <br /> sensitive receptor survey performed within a 2,000-foot radius of the site are included in <br /> Appendix A <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> An investigation of the soil near a single wall fiberglass underground storage tank (LEST) was <br /> performed as a part of 1998 UST upgrade requirements Impacted soil was found to exist in the <br /> immediate vicinity of the UST The tank was removed in May 2000, and three monitoring wells <br /> (MW-1 through MW-3) were installed in June 2000 A fourth, deep monitoring well (MW-4) <br /> was installed in April 2004 On July 19, 2004 the SJCEHD issued a letter reviewing the "Report <br /> of Monitoring Well Installation (MW-4) and Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling", <br /> dated May 26, 2004 In a letter dated July 19, 2004, SJCEHD requested the following actions <br /> • Perform groundwater sampling of the existing monitoring well network <br /> • Conduct a survey of the 'Y', "y" and "z" coordinates of the top of casing for the four <br /> monitoring wells in accordance with the SWRCB UST Program — AB2886 (Electronic <br /> 1Reporting) regulations <br /> • Electronically submit well survey data along with analytical data from soil and water <br /> samples collected from the site through Geotracker to the SWRCB <br /> t • Conduct a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,000-foot radius of the site <br /> Submit a report summarizing the results activities of the above items <br /> 49014-IISAC4R482 Page I of 6 November 18, 2004 <br /> Copynght 2004 Mcinfelder,Inc <br /> KLEINFELDER 3077 Fite Circle Sacramento CA 9582 7-1 81 5 (916) 366-1701 1916) 366-7013 tax <br />
