• The lithology, moisture, density, color, sample identification, PID measurements, and <br /> well construction details were recorded on the boring log as appropriate <br /> • The screened interval was constructed from 30 to 35 feet bgs to discretely screen the <br /> • lower section of the aquifer <br /> To prevent bridging, a uniform filter pack of#2/12 sand was slowly installed from the <br /> bottom of the boring to a depth of 1 foot above the top of the well screen <br /> ' A clean, weighted tape measure was used to ensure proper placement of the sand and <br /> that sand stayed in the auger <br /> • All wells were constructed using FVC flush thread casing and sandpack Construction <br /> ' details were documented on the boring log <br /> • A 2-foot thick seal of clay was installed above the sand pack and tremie grouted with <br /> a cement/bentonite slurry not exceeding 5 percent bentonite to 1 foot below the <br /> ' ground surface The top of the PVC casing was approximately 2 inches below grade <br /> Well heads were protected by flush-to-grade traffic rated well boxes A slip cap was <br /> placed over the top of the casing <br /> ' The well was protected by 8-inch flush-mounted traffic box set in concrete, with a <br /> locking well cap The top of the traffic box was set above grade with a gently sloping <br /> concrete rim The monitoring well identification number was scribed into the concrete <br /> ' rim before it completely set <br /> Upon completion of the well installation, the well was closed and secured by <br /> replacing the well cap, securing the lock and bolting down the lid of the flush- <br /> mounted traffic box <br /> 4.
