ALTON <br /> GEOSCIENCE <br /> Apn120, 1999 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> 304 Fast Weber Street, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 25-0740-02 <br /> ATTN MS CAROL OZ <br /> SITE CHP FAClLr Y <br /> 385 WEST GRANTLINE ROAD <br /> TRACY, CALIFORNIA <br /> RE- SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION REPORT <br /> Dear Ms. Oz- <br /> Alton Geoscieno�submits this Subsurface Investigation Report for the California Highway Patrol <br /> (CHP) facility, located at 385 West Grandme Road in Tracy, California (Figure 1) <br /> 1.0 OBJECTIVES <br /> The site assessment activities were performed to determine if any contaminated soil exists in the <br /> immediate vicinity of an existing gasoline underground storage tank (UST) at the above referenced <br /> site This investigation was performed at the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> as part of pemuttnng the single wall fiberglass UST to meet the 1998 upgrade requirements <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is currently a CHP Station with a gasoline UST and pump for fueling CHP vehicles <br /> (Figure 2) <br /> The site is located about 3,500 feet south of Highway 205 at an elevation of approximately 25 feet <br /> above mean sea level (NGVD-1929) Topography in the viciruty of the site is relatively flat, <br /> sloping slightly to the north <br /> The site lies in the Central Valley of California Geologically, the valley is a large asymmetric <br /> trough that is bounded by pre-Ternary graiutic, metamorphic, and marine sedimentary rocks The <br /> trough has been filled with as much as 30,000 feet of sediment in the San Joaquin Valley to the <br /> south and as much as 60,000 feet of sediment in the Sacramento Valley to the north. These <br /> sediments range in age from Jurassic to Holocene and include both marine and continental <br /> sedimentary deposits (USGS 1986) <br /> The scope of this investigation includes only the uppermost deposits wiflun the Central Valley <br /> Cfo �nfts of Ternary and Quaternary age compose a number of formations, in total they <br /> (510)606 9150•FAX(510)606 9260 <br />
