• <br /> Treadwell&Rolb <br /> SITE ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> 541 West Grant Line Road <br /> Tracy, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report presents the results of our environmental assessment for the subject property (Site) <br /> and surrounding properties (Figures I and 2) There is evidence of contamination from <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater beneath the Site In a 3 July 2002 letter to <br /> Mr Tom Brenkwitz, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) <br /> suggests that the subsurface petroleum contamination may be the result of past activities at the <br /> ' Site rather than having migrated from the adjacent Chevron service station The SJCEHD based <br /> that opinion on information generated by Chevron and the preliminary subsurface investigation <br /> ' performed at the Site in August 2000 by Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc The SJCEHD further <br /> ' . stated in their letter that because they could not attribute the contamination at the Site to an <br /> underground storage tank (UST) release, they would not be the regulatorya providing agency Y p g t he <br /> oversight for the continued investigation at the Site They then referred Mr Brenkwitz to the <br /> ' Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for further directives <br /> ' 1.1 Purpose and Scope <br /> ' The purpose of this assessment was to compile available information on the Site and adjacent <br /> properties to assess whether the source of contamination may have been the result of past <br /> activities at the Site or if it may have migrated from an offsite source area Our scope of work <br /> included <br /> ' • Compiling and reviewing available documents from the City of Tracy and the SJCEHD, <br /> • Reviewing local, state, and federal government environmental databases, <br /> • Reviewing available aerial photographs of the area, <br /> 0' 0 Conducting interviews with individuals familiar with past activities at the Site and other <br /> sites of concern, <br /> Site Assessment Report l 21 May 2003 <br /> ' TREADWELL&ROLLO,INC <br />
