kNJ KLEINFELDER
ATTACHMENT A
SCOPE OF WORK
Hydrogeological Services
Mariposa Lakes
Stockton, California
File No.: 02001PROP.ENV/ST05P346
December 2, 2005
INTRODUCTION
Kleinfelder is pleased to present this proposal to Mr. Lynn Sutton of PCCP Mariposa
Lakes, LLC (PCCPML). This proposal was developed based on a conversation with Mr.
Sutton regarding the need to: 1) Develop hydrogeological information about the subject
site; 2) characterize the shallow groundwater levels, flow direction and quality; 3)
assess the possibility of developing a non-potable water supply for make-up water for
the on-site water features, 4) and aid in the development of a water conservation plan
and integrated water management plan for the development.
Kleinfelder is committed to providing quality service to its clients, commensurate with
their wants, needs and desired level of risk. If a portion of this proposal does not meet
the needs of PCCPML or if those needs have changed, Kleinfelder will consider
appropriate modifications, subject to the standards of care to which we adhere as
professionals. Modifications such as changes in scope, methodology, scheduling, and
contract terms may result in changes to the risks assumed by PCCPML as well as
adjustments to our fees.
SCOPE OF WORK
TASK 1 —REGULATORY AGENCY FILE REVIEW
The goal of conducting the file reviews is to assess the available data for the existing wells
on the site and assess the PCE/TCE contamination plume emanating from the Austin
Road Landfill (ARL). The evaluation will include the most current and readily available
information concerning the horizontal and vertical extent assessment of the contamination,
remedial activities, and effectiveness of the remedial activities at the landfill.
Kleinfelder will attempt to locate and review individual well logs from the existing wells
within the site boundaries. Initially, a request should be made of the individual well owners
to determine if they have well logs available. We will also request, on behalf of the well
owners, from the State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to review the
available drilling logs from within the project site boundaries. We will attempt to have the
City of Stockton request as the municipality requiring the review facilitates the review
process. The DWR will not release well logs to individuals requesting a review.
02001PR0P.ENV/ST05P346R/JDZ:Iv Page 1 of 12
©2005 Kleinfelder, Inc. December 2, 2005
