If the <br /> Draeger tube shows measurement above 0.5 ppmv benzene <br /> equivalent, conduct confirmation sampling using personal sampling <br /> pump and charcoal tube to determine the presence of benzene. <br /> Head: ANSI-approved hard hat <br /> Hearing: Ear plugs(if working around a noise source) <br /> Body: Disposable protective clothing, i.e. Tyveks <br /> Hands: Outer nitrile gloves <br /> Shoes: ANSI-approved steel-toed safety work shoes/boots <br /> Respiratory: NIOSH-approved air-purifying respirator equipped with organic <br /> vapor/P-100 filter combination cartridges <br /> Downgrade: To Level D Protection: <br /> If the following conditions exist: <br /> a) PID readings are below 5 ppmv VOC in the breathing zone, and there are <br /> no other indications of airborne health hazards present in the work <br /> area. <br /> b) Benzene tube reading is below 0.5 ppmv benzene equivalent. <br /> Head: ANSI-approved hard hat <br /> Eyes: ANSI-approved safety glasses <br /> Hearing: Ear plugs (if working around a noise source) <br /> Body: Work clothes and orange visibility vest <br /> Hands: Latex Gloves <br /> Shoes: ANSI-approved steel-toed safety work shoes/boots <br /> 24 <br />
