This work plan replaces the November 21 , 2000 work plan for site
assessment prepared by SECOR for Chevron.
OBJECTIVE
The purpose of the site assessment is to further delineate the lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site. Fifteen cone penetration testing
(CPT) borings (14 onsite and 1 offsite) will be advanced to assess soil stratigraphy.
Adjacent to each CPT boring, a second direct-push borehole will be advanced to collect
soil and groundwater samples as described in the Proposed Scope of Work.
SITE BACKGROUND
The site is a former service station located at 575 Grant Line Road in Tracy, California.
The site is currently a used car lot (Imperial Leasing Ltd.) located in a mixed light
commercial and residential area (Figure 2).
There are currently four groundwater monitoring wells located at the site. During the
first quarter 2001 , total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPHd) were
detected in samples from all four wells at concentrations ranging from 88. 1 ppb (MW-1)
to 293 ppb (MW-3). Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPHg) were
detected in three of four samples at concentrations ranging from 572 ppb (MW-2) to
3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916. 861. 0400 916. 861 . 0430 Pax avww. secor. com
