TOUCHSTONE DEVELOPMENTS <br /> trenches at depths ranging from approximately 4 to 6 5 feet bgs <br /> (PX-1 through PX-6, Table B, Figure 3) <br /> Test trenches were dug near the former product UST complex <br /> Each trench was approximately 7 to 8 feet long, radiating away <br /> from the former UST location Samples were collected at <br /> various depths (TX-1 through TX-8, Table B, Figure 3) <br /> Soil was stockpiled during excavation activities Soil suspected to <br /> be contaminated with waste oil was profiled, then transported by <br /> Stamco/Allwaste Trucking to Forward Landfill Approximately 350 <br /> cubic yards were disposed of in this manner which included <br /> stockpiles generated from the original waste oil tank removal <br /> Soil from the test trenches near the pump island and product UST <br /> areas were stockpiled and aerated Aeration was perfomed in <br /> accordance with San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control <br /> District guidelines Aerated soil was sampled (ASP-1-A-D through <br /> ASP-3-A-D, Table C, Figure 4) and the approximately 300 cubic <br /> yards were re-used on-site as backfill per Harlin Knoll's approval <br /> and direction <br /> SAMPLING PROTOCOL <br /> Overexcavation and Test Trench Soil Sampling <br /> Soil samples were collected from the excavator bucket by removing the top few <br /> inches of soil and pushing a clean, six-inch-long (two inch diameter) brass <br /> sample tube into the soil until completely full The ends of the tubes were <br /> covered with aluminum foil and sealed with plastic end caps The samples were <br /> then labeled, placed in a cooler with ice, entered on a Chain-of-Custody form <br /> and transported to Sequoia Analytical, Inc , located in Redwood City, California, <br /> a State-certified laboratory <br /> Stockpile Sampling <br /> Four discrete stockpile samples were collected for approximately every 100 <br /> cubic yards of aerated soil The four samples were composited into one by the <br /> laboratory These samples were collected by removing the top 8 to 12 inches of <br /> soil in each stockpile, then pushing a sample tube into the soil until completely <br /> full The samples were sealed, labeled and handled as described previously in <br /> this report <br /> i <br /> Chevron Station#E9-$632 2 <br /> I <br />
