In March 2019, the Department received a letter from the Safeway Distribution Center
requesting an STAA Terminal Access Route from I-580/ Mountain House Parkway
(International Parkway)to South Hansen Road. The Department reviewed the request and
sent a letter to San Joaquin County stating I-580/Mountain House Parkway(International
Parkway) interchange is already designated for STAA trucks within Caltrans'jurisdiction.
However, SJ County would need to verify the local road geometric criteria. The
Department also requested a written confirmation that the terminal will provide 24/7
turnaround. The Department has not received a response from SJ County.
2. Currently, South Hansen Road is not designated as STAA route. The south west corner of
Schulte Road and Hansen Road does not accommodate STAA turning radius. Improvement
will be required at the south west corner.
3. the Proposed truck/trailer parking and storage facility will need to submit a request for
STAA Terminal Access via I-580/Mountain House Parkway(International Parkway)to the
terminal.
"Provide a safe, sustainable, integrated and efficient transportation system
to enhance California's economy and livabilih,"
