JUL
Wright
Environmental
Services, Inc.
Construction • Engineering • Remediati69'9 JIJL 7 Pjy
July 7, 2000
City of Tracy
520 Tracy Boulevard
Tracy, CA 95376
Attn.: Mr. Paul Verma
Re: Quarterly Monitoring Approach
Tracy Auto Stereo Site,10 West Grantline Road, Tracy, CA
PHS EHD Site Code 504834
Dear Mr. Verma,
Wright Environmental Services, Inc. (Wright) has prepared this addendum letter for the
above referenced site. As you know, Wright has performed a soil and groundwater
sampling preliminary site assessment in our report dated April 21; 2000. The San
Joaquin County Public Health Service Environmental Health Division (PHS EHD) has
reviewed the report and is in general agreement with the recommended work. However.
the PHS EHD desired the following clarification regarding quarterly groundwater
monitoring of the proposed monitoring well in their telephone conversation of June 22,
2000. The following approach to groundwater monitoring will supplement and amend
our proposed workplan dated June 9, 2000.
Approach to Groundwater Monitoring
Wright will perform the following work:
1. One groundwater monitoring well will be installed at street location next to
exploratory boring B-3. This well will be sampled at quarterly intervals for Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPHG), Benzene; Toluene, Ethylbenzene and
Xylenes (BTEX), and Methyl-tert-butyl-ether (MTBE) and fuel oxygenates, as well as
Ethylene Dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-DiChloroethane (1,2-DCA).
2. PHS EHD suggested reviewing the two downgradient sites on the corner of Holly
Street and Grantline Road to assist in ascertaining groundwater flow directions. Wright
will review the files as listed by PHS EHD at 2421 Holly Street (an inactive service
station) and 15 Grantline Road (an active service station). Wright will review these files
to gather information regarding well details, subsurface lithology and elevation datum of
well casings on both sites. If necessary, Wright will request permission to enter these
sites for the purpose of resurveying well casings so the new well will have the same
datum for groundwater measurements and flow contouring.
67 E. 10th Street • Tracy, CA 95376
209.833.0758 .
