(ATC).on your behalf for the above- <br /> referenced site. The work plan was submitted in response to the EHD letter dated 16 April <br /> 2010, directing the submittal of a work plan to collect soil gas samples. <br /> ATC .proposes to advance five soil borings to depths of approximately six feet below <br /> surface rade bs usin a Strata robe drilling ri <br /> 9 ( 9) 9 p g gat locations illustrated on Figure 3 of <br /> the work plan. The borings will be completed as temporary soil gas sampling points to <br /> collect soilas samples for chemical analysis. <br /> s. <br /> g p Y <br /> The EHD approves the advancement of four of the five proposed soil gas sampling point <br /> locations. The EHD believes the proposed soil gas sampling point at the northwest corner <br /> of the on-site building should be omitted since this location is distant from the main source <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination and the other proposed sampling points cover <br /> the likely contaminant migration pathway between the source area(s) and the building's <br /> northwest corner. <br /> ATC proposes to collect soil for litholo is evaluation during the advancement <br /> of the <br /> boreholes, and collect soil samples at total depth from each borehole to screen for <br /> chemicals of concern using a photo ionization detector and to analyze for petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon contaminants by an accredited California laboratory. ATC proposes to collect <br /> one soil sample at total depth from at least one boring for the geotechnical analyses of <br /> porosity, density, moisture content, particle size, and total organic carbon; the data results <br /> will-be applied to vapor intrusion modeling. <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />
