THE CUSTOMER COMPANY
4457 PARK ROAD
BENICIA CA 94510-1124
RE: The Customer Company SITE CODE: 1404
f 15 East Grant Line Road
Tracy,California
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD), has reviewed quarterly
groundwater monitoring reports for.the above-referenced site submitted by ATC Associates Inc.
(ATC) on your behalf and noted.that EHD does not have the second quarter 2005 groundwater
monitoring report for this site. Please submit this report to EHD by November 30,2006.
Upon review of the analytical data submitted in the most recent quarterly, report, Monitoring
Report First Quarter 2006, dated July 21,2006,and review of the computer-interpreted soil types
generated for cone penetromer test.(CPT) borings CPT-1 and CPT-2, EHD believes additional
monitoring wells are needed to investigate the methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) contamination
currently found in groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-4,-'MW-5,
MW-6, MW-7, and MW-8. Soil lithology interpreted from the two CPT borings is primarily
gravelly sand and sand between approximately 37 and 45 feet below surface grade (bsg), and
between 65 and 70 feet bsg. EHD recommends three monitoring wells, screened in the shallow
sand;be installed. One well should be located in the, source area,"and two wells should.be.down-
and cross-gradient of this well.Groundwater flow direction tends to be toward the north/northeasi
at this site, so placing one well near the:.property line north of MW-7 may provide information
needed to define the lateral extent of the MTBE plume.
Please contact Vicki.McCartney at (209).468-3456, or vmecartney(d?sjcehd.com if you have any
questions concerning this letter.
Donna Heran, REHS,Director*
Environmental Health Department :••,
Victoria L.McCartney, Senior REHS Nuel C.
