The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD) has requested the advancement of.additional soil borings to further assess soil and
groundwater conditions off-site.
To evaluate the extent of MTBE in groundwater, ATC is requesting permission to install one
Cone Penetrometer (CPT) soil boring at your property located 2514 Holly Drive in Tracy, j
California. A workplan with site maps detailing the proposed scope of work is contained in
Attachment 1 and a letter from SJCEHD requesting the installation of a CPT boring on your
property is contained in Attachment 2.
If the location of the proposed boring is unacceptable due to facility operations and the presence of
structures, we can attempt to move the location to another area within the facility that would not
impact facility operations and still satisfy the request of the SJCEHD. The drilling activities would
require approximately one day of field work. Once soil and groundwater samples were collected,
the boring would be backfilled with a cement grout to the surface.
A copy of the laboratory results would be provided to you for your records. All costs associated
with these activities are the responsibility of our client, The Customer Company. ATC would be
happy to meet with you in person to discuss exactly what we are proposing to do. If you find our
request acceptable and intend to grant permission, please sign the access agreement contained in
Attachment 3 and return it to our office.
If you have any questions regarding our request please contact our office at (209) 579-2221 or Ms.
Vicky McCartney with SJCEHD at(209)468-3420.
25847\009 Netters\ac cessl tr.doc
ENVIRONMENTAL, GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIALS PROFESSIONALS
i
