Based on conversations with these agencies, it
appears that the work completed to date at the two Fresno sites have not had favorable results.
In addition, the CVRWQCB has forwarded a copy of a United States Environmental Protection Agency
Demonstration Bulletin (enclosed) which discusses the ineffectiveness of this same technology.
Therefore, in light of the above information, please submit a workplan to conduct the additional
investigative requirements and to conduct feasibility studies to determine the most cost
effective, efficient cleanup for this site to PHS/EHD by April 3, 1995. Please include a time
schedule for the implementation of the workplan.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please contact Linda Turkatte,
Senior RENS, at (209) 468-3441.
