Grant Line Rd.
Tracy, CA
Please be advised that San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has reviewed activities to date at the above referenced location. Four monitoring wells were
installed in 1988 after much of the contaminated soil associated with the underground storage tank leak had
been excavated and disposed of Residual soil contamination was left in place near the southern border of
the property (30 parts per million (ppm)). It is possible higher concentrations exist due to the limitations
of the excavation. In addition, monitoring well #4 was sampled in April of 1988 and benzene, (2.7 parts
per billion (ppb)); xylene (13 ppb) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (140 ppb) were detected.
Due to the residual soil and groundwater contamination, and pursuant to Section 2652(d) of the
Underground Storage Tank Regulations(California Code of Regulations,Title 23,Subchapter 16) a quarterly
monitoring report shall be submitted to PHS/EHD and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) until the investigation and cleanup of the site is deemed adequate. The report is to show:
-status of investigation and cleanup activities including the results of all investigations
completed to date;
-proposed continuing or next phase of investigation;
-method of cleanup proposed or implemented, schedules for the completion of the
investigation of the site and remediation;
-method and location of disposal of the released hazardous substance and any contaminated
soil, groundwater or surface water,
-manifest required for transport of hazardous substances;
-monitoring well data including groundwater elevation, pH, conductivity, gradient;
-analytical results of groundwater or sod sampling; and
-site map showing the 'zero line' of contamination, if known, and changes in the above
measurements over the last quarter.
Please submit this report by November 15, 1991.
If you have any questions, contact Eleanor Ratliff, REHS, of my staff at (209)468-3454.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
ealth O cer
urie A.
