The report will include a detailed summary of the subsurface
investigation and contaminant distribution, both in soil and groundwater. The .report will be
prepared in general accordance with SJCEHD reporting guidelines and will include
recommendations as appropriate.
All work described in this workplan will be.performed under the. direction.of a California
Registered Professional Engineer or California registered Professional.Geologist. A copy of the f
soil boring permit application will.be provided under separate cover.
Proiected Schedule
Once approval of this workplan has been received, ATC will initiate the permitting process with
the City of Tracy and confirm a schedule for drilling activities. ATC will notify the SJCEHD at
least 48 hours prior to beginning any field activities. The summary report will be submitted to the
SJCEHD approximately 60 days after the completion of field activities.
{ Resolution No. 2009-0042
Since the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) adopted Resolution No. 2009-0042 in
2009, the SJ EHD has provided a reduced sampling schedule and list for chemical analyses in
order t kLt t e resolution. The reduced sampling schedule provided by the SJCEHD was based
on a recent reduction of MTBE concentrations,in groundwater samples collected from the
existing groundwater monitoring well network. ATC generally concurs with the reduction of the
sampling schedule. Prior to the resolution, .wells MW-1, and..MW-4 through MW-8 were
sampled on a quarterly schedule, while wells!MW-2 and MW-3 were sampled on an annual
schedule. The new sampling schedule request for wells MW-1, MW-4, MW-5, and MW-8 to be
sampled semi-annually and wells.MW-2, MW-3,MW-6, and MW-7 sampled biennially.
I
Chemical analyses of the groundwater samples. should include TPHg or GRO utilizing EPA
Method 8015B; and BTEX, MTBE, TBA, and TAME utilizing EPA Method 8260B. The
SJCEHD did not previously include BTEX;.however, it is 'in ATC's.opinion that ahe.BTEX
constituents are, necessary .fol• chemical.analysK—Thd laboratory analyses for BTEX will not
result in,an'increase of project costs.
i t
I
i
SAEnvironmenta1\25847\37 Tracy\Reports\Response 2009 Aug.doc 7
r
