Customer Company has .begun.thecontrolled aeration of 50 cubic yards <br /> : of soil at . Food and Liquor Store 37, at 15 .East Grantline Road, Tracy, <br /> .'' California. . The soil is being aerated, according to our "Proposed Soil <br /> Aeration 'Plan," dated May 3, 1988. The plan was approved by the San <br /> Joaquin County Air . Pollution 'Control District (APCD) with the provision <br /> the first' aeration section be aerated.a minimutn of three days before the <br /> second section is spread. <br /> -i Upon completion of the controlled aeration of the 50 cubic yards, an <br /> additional 300 to 350 cubic yards of soil will require controlled aeratiori <br /> onsite'. The soil was generated during the additional removal of soil from <br /> ' the tank excavation from April 25 through April 28. ti <br /> a The 350cubic yards of stockpiled soil"was assessed with an organic vapor' <br /> y survey and composite ' sample analysis on f.Pril 27, 1988. :Two composite <br /> samples were collected from the 350 cubic yard pile.and submitted'under <br /> chain-of-custody to Chemwest. Analytical Laboratories in Sacramento.' The <br /> samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and BTEX <br /> constituents. -by EPA.Method 8020. ' TPH concentrations were detected at 220 <br /> and 126 mg/kg in the two composite samples. The.arganic screening and <br /> t analytical results are presented on Table 1 and the composite sample <br /> r locations are shown on Plate 1. <br /> Laboratory data sheets---:and <br /> E.. chain--of-custody..forms are enclosed { <br /> AnaZytical results indicate the soil has an "organic content" of 100 .to <br /> 500 . mg/kg. (Reference..r3.nclosed APCD guidelines). According to APCDIs <br /> ' guidelines, a maximum of 120 cubic yards .of soil canbe aerated. The <br /> Customer Company intends to aerate the 350 cubic yards of soil in sections ; <br /> of 50 to 120 cubic yards in the secured area onsite. <br /> The .soil will be aerated as 'specified in Kleinfelder's "Proposed Soii. <br /> Aeration Plan," dates May 3, 1988.
